"Luftwaffe Bert" has one of the biggest engines out there. Is keeping the group together a hard job? Bert is there. Is there work to do to catch a break? Bert is out on the front of the pack. Although he's tenacious and powerful on his bike, in everyday life Bert is quite reserved. His passions include golf, a sport that "helps me relax"; cappuccino; and tiramisu, his favorite dessert. Married with two children, Bert lives on Lake Constance, "the most beautiful place in the world to live and ride," he affirms. In 2013 Bert will try to recapture the thrill of an individual victory, which remained out of his reach last year.
